Teri Garr, ‘Young Frankenstein’ Star & Oscar Nominee, Dead At 79 After MS Battle
Academy Award-nominated actress Teri Garr has passed away at 79. The beloved actress, known for her roles in “Tootsie” and “Young Frankenstein,” died Oct. 29 from multiple sclerosis complications, her publicist and friend Heidi Schaeffer told NBC News. She had been living with MS for over 25 years after becoming officially diagnosed with the condition in 1999 – despite symptoms appearing over 15 years prior. The “Mr. Mom” star went public with her diagnosis on national TV in 2002, and later become a significant advocate for the autoimmune disease.
