Selena Gomez Shocked Over SAG Awards Win For ‘Only Murders In The Building’: ‘We Never Win’

Selena Gomez was speechless after “Only Murders in the Building” won big at the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Feb. 23. The actress was visibly stunned when Zoey Deschanel and Max Greenfield revealed her show won outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series. When the camera panned towards her table, the 32-year-old had her mouth wide opened as she went to hug her co-star and as she was walking to the stage, she was captured mouthing what appears to be, “I can’t talk” to her castmates. When she finally got to the stage, she let the world know exactly what she was feeling admitting, “Wait, we never win. This is so weird.” Steve Martin and Martin Short were noticeably absent from Sunday’s award show and Selena gave a funny explanation as to why. “Marty and Steve aren’t here because, you know, they don’t really care,” she joked. Earlier in the telecast Martin won his first SAG Award at age 74 for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series. His absence comes days after it was revealed he tested positive for COVID after attending “SNL50: The Anniversary Special.”
