Jamie Lee Curtis Gets Emotional Discussing Palisades Fire on TV As Adrien Brody Tears Up Over L.A. Tragedy
Jamie Lee Curtis and Adrien Brody are among those who are sharing their devastation over the wildfires in Los Angeles. While doing an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” in New York City, which aired Jan. 8, the “Freaky Friday” star choked up as she discussed the blaze in her community. “I’m literally just about to cry,” she told the late-night host before adding, “As you know where I live is on fire right now. Literally the entire city of the Pacific Palisades is burning. And you know I flew here last night. I was on the plane, started getting texts and it’s f—ing gnarly, you guys. It’s just a catastrophe in Southern California. Obviously there have been horrific fires in many places [but] this is literally where I live. Everything. The market I shop in. The schools my kids go.” The actress went on to share ways people can help, including supporting the American Red Cross. Meanwhile, also on Jan. 8, actor Adrien Brody teared up over the tragedy while accepting the best actor prize at the New York Film Critics Circle Awards in New York City for his performance in “The Brutalist.” “It’s hard to accept something like this when there’s so much suffering in the world,” he said in part before thanking first responders.
