Dua Lipa is reacting to the untimely death of Duolingo’s owl mascot, Duo. On Feb. 12, the pop star wrote on X, “Till’ death duo part,” in response to the apps announcement that Duo passed away. Duolingo announced the death on Feb. 11, seemingly as part of a marketing campaign. In a statement, they informed app users, writing, “Authorities are currently investigating his cause of death and we are cooperating fully. Tbh, he probably died waiting for you to do your lesson, but what do we know.” They included a shoutout to the the “Levitating” singer ending their statement writing, “we appreciate you respecting Dua Lipa’s privacy at this time.” Duo’s love for the pop star has been documented on the apps social media accounts over the past few years.
