Donald Trump’s New Presidential Photo Sparks Mugshot Comparisons Ahead Of Inauguration
Donald Trump’s newest presidential portrait is drawing comparisons to another of his most famous – or infamous – photos. The President-Elect appeared to recreate his mugshot pose in an inaugural image released by his transition team on Jan. 16, just days before his swearing-in ceremony. Fans immediately noticed the similarities between Trump’s facial expressions in the new photo and his 2023 mugshot, taken when he was booked into the Fulton County Jail in Georgia. Vice President-Elect JD Vance was also seen in a new official portrait, sporting a similar blue-on-blue suit jacket and tie as Trump’s, but with a closed-mouth smile and crossed arms. The pair’s campaign website noted that the updated photos “go hard.” The portrait release comes amid Trump’s latest announcement that celebrity supporters Mel Gibson, Jon Voight and Sylvester Stallone would serve as “special envoys” to assist in bringing entertainment productions back to the U.S. to restore what Trump called “a Golden Age of Hollywood.”
