Wendy Williams Speaks Out Against Guardianship, Compares Her Facility to Prison: ‘Not Cognitively Impaired’

Wendy Williams is speaking out. The former talk show host, who has been under a conservatorship since 2022, joined “The Breakfast Club” on Thursday, Jan. 16, where she denied that she is “cognitively impaired” and revealed the conditions of the facility she is currently living in. “I feel like I am in prison,” she told hosts DJ Envy, Charlamagne Tha God, and Jess Hilarious, adding, “I’m in this place where the people are in their 90s and their 80s and their 70s … There’s something wrong with these people here on this floor.” The 60-year-old’s niece, Alex, also phoned in to the conversation, echoing her aunt’s comments and providing her perspective about the residence. “She’s there in New York, in this place, essentially what some people call a luxury prison… It’s small. She has a bed, a chair, a TV, a bathroom and she’s looking out one window,” Alex explained before claiming that no one can get in contact with Williams unless she calls them, sharing, “We can’t call her. That’s been the reality since 2023. That room that she’s sitting in – she’s there every day, all hours of the day, every week, every month. She’s not getting proper sunlight.” Later in the interview, the former daytime host and her niece shared their thoughts on the reports that claimed the TV personality has been diagnosed with early onset dementia after Charlamagne brought up the controversial Lifetime documentary, “Where Is Wendy Williams?” which premiered last year. Plus, Williams also weighed in on the allegations against Sean “Diddy” Combs. Access Hollywood has reached out to Williams’ guardian, Sabrina E. Morrissey, as well as A&E and Lifetime, but did not immediately hear back. Sean “Diddy” Combs has previously denied the allegations against him.
