Timothy Busfield’s Wife Melissa Gilbert Sits Front Row At Pre-Trial Amid Child Abuse Charges

Timothy Busfield’s wife Melissa Gilbert is continuing to stand by him as he appeared in court on Jan. 20 for his pre-trial hearing. The actor walked into the court room in handcuffs and smiled as he greeted his attorney with his wife of 12 years, who was sitting in the front surrounded by friends and family. Busfield surrendered to authorities and was officially charged on Jan. 13 after the Albuquerque Police Department issued a warrant for his arrest days prior. He was arrested on two counts of criminal sexual conduct of a minor and one count of child abuse. He is facing the charges in New Mexico stemming from allegations that he inappropriately touched twin boys on set while directing “The Cleaning Lady.” Busfield has called the claims revenge allegations for not bringing the twins back on the show for the final season. He is due at court on Jan. 29.
