Kesha Blasts Trump’s White House For Unauthorized Use of Her Song In TikTok
Kesha is speaking out after the White House used her song “Blow” in a video without permission. On March 2, the singer took to social media to criticize the Trump administration as she clarified that she did not authorize use for her track on the White House’s Feb. 10 TikTok, which featured fighter jets and apparent strikes. “It’s come to my attention that the White House has used one of my songs on TikTok to incite violence and threaten war. Trying to make light of war is disgusting and inhumane. I absolutely do NOT approve of my music being used to promote violence of any kind,” she wrote in part, adding, “Love always trumps hate. Please love yourself and each other in times like this. This show of blatant disregard for human life and quite frankly this attack on all our nervous systems is the opposite of what I stand for.” The White House appeared to respond to Kesha’s statement as Steven Cheung, Assistant to the President and White House Director of Communications, wrote in reply to Kesha’s post, “All these ‘singers’ keep falling for this. This just gives us more attention and more view counts to our videos because people want to see what they’re bitching about. Thank you for your attention to this matter.” After Cheung’s statement, Kesha issued another tweet which read “stop using my music perverts” before tagging the White House’s official X account. As of March 3, the TikTok is still on the White House’s account.
