Hayden Panettiere Shuts Down Accusations She ‘Abandoned’ Her Daughter: We Have An ‘Incredible Bond’

Hayden Panettiere is setting the record straight. The “Heroes” alum detailed some of the more personal revelations in her upcoming memoir “This is Me: A Reckoning,” telling host Jay Shetty on his “On Purpose” podcast about a disturbing alleged encounter she endured when on a boat with a “very famous” man when she was 18. Hayden also hit back at accusations that she “abandoned” her daughter Kaya, who is now 11. In 2018, Hayden made the difficult decision to give full custody to her ex-fiancé, boxer Wladimir Klitschko, as she sought treatment for ongoing struggles including addiction and postpartum depression. While Hayden is now sober and healthy, the 36-year-old asserts it would be selfish of her to pull Kaya away from the full life she has been living in Europe with family and friends and that she has “an incredible relationship” with the preteen.
