Don Lemon Arrested By Federal Agents After Anti-ICE Protest at Minnesota Church

Former CNN anchor Don Lemon was taken into custody by federal agents overnight, after covering an anti-ICE protest in Minnesota. According to Lemon’s attorney, Abbe Lowell, the 59-year-old was arrested in Los Angeles late Thursday night, where he was reporting on this year’s Grammy Awards. The arrest stems from a Jan. 18 demonstration at a church in St. Paul, where protesters interrupted a service to protest immigration enforcement with chants of “ICE out.” An Immigration and Customs Enforcement official allegedly serves as a pastor at the church. Lemon and his attorney maintain that he entered the church for the sole purpose of covering the demonstration in a purely journalistic capacity.
