Conan O’Brien Reacts To 2025 Oscars Hosting Gig In Funny Video: ‘This Is Incredible’

Conan O’Brien is taking the stage on Hollywood’s biggest night! The late night icon, 61, will host the 2025 Oscars and reacted to the news in a funny video on Nov. 15, joking that he’d originally thought he was being honored…in a different way. “I’m an Oscar winner!” he teased while holding one of the Academy’s legendary statuettes, before being informed that he’s actually emceeing the event instead. Conan’s new gig comes after previous Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel stepped down from the job after two consecutive years. Academy CEO Bill Kramer and president Janet Yang shared excitement to welcome Conan, saying in a joint statement that they are “thrilled and honored to have the incomparable” TV personality aboard as host. “He is the perfect person to help lead our global celebration of film with his brilliant humor, his love of movies, and his live TV expertise,” the statement read, adding. “His remarkable ability to connect with audiences will bring viewers together to do what the Oscars do best—honor the spectacular films and filmmakers of this year.”
