Queen Elizabeth’s Bees Were Informed Of Her Death By Royal Beekeeper: ‘It Is Tradition’

Buckingham Palace’s bees have lost their Queen. According to The Daily Mail, royal beekeeper, John Chappale, told thousands of bees residing in hives at Buckingham Palace and Clarence House that Queen Elizabeth has died, and that King Charles III is their new “master.” Per the outlet, the beekeeper has to tell the bees of a change in ownership, otherwise they will not produce any honey and will leave the hive. “It is traditional when someone dies that you go to the hives and say a little prayer and put a black ribbon on the hive,” he said.
