Melania Trump Questions Donald Trump Assassination Attempt: There’s ‘More To The Story’

Melania Trump wants answers. The former first lady is questioning the attempted assassination of her husband, former president Donald Trump, in a video posted on X on Sept. 10 to promote her upcoming memoir. “The attempt to end my husband’s life was a horrible, distressing experience,” she said in the 30-second video. “Now the silence around it feels heavy. I can’t help but wonder, why didn’t law enforcement officials arrest the shooter before the speech?” she said. “There is definitely more to this story, and we need to uncover the truth.” A bullet pierced the upper part of the former president’s right ear during the rally. The shooter, Thomas Crooks, was killed by at least one Secret Service sharpshooter, according to authorities. Since the shooting, the Secret Service has faced intense criticism for its failure to prevent Crooks from firing during the rally and the FBI launched an investigation. Kimberly Cheatle, the Secret Service’s director at the time of the shooting, stepped down after members of congress grilled her for the handling of the incident.
