Meghan Markle Dazzles in Red As She Makes a Surprise Appearance at Children’s Hospital L.A. Gala

Meghan Markle is showing up to support Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. On Saturday, Oct. 5, the Duchess of Sussex made a surprise appearance at the Children’s Hospital L.A. 2024 Gala where she stunned in a red Carolina Herrera gown. The biennial gala honors the hospital’s patients, physicians, researchers and caregivers and recognizes philanthropists, according to the organization’s website. While on the red carpet, Meghan spoke about why she is grateful for the children’s hospital. “Oh my goodness, the work they do at Children’s Hospital L.A. is otherworldly, and I think from my standpoint as a mother, no one wants to be in a position where you need to go to a place like this, but if you have to, the best place in the world you could go would be Children’s Hospital L.A.,” she said in part, adding, “The amount of work they do for families that really could not afford this level of care is something that I think should never be overlooked, so I’m just grateful for everything they do [and] happy to be here to support.”
