Letitia Wright Opens Up On How She Prepared For Vulnerable Scenes In Film ‘Aisha’ (EXCLUSIVE)

Letitia Wright is opening up about her latest film, “Aisha,” in which she stars alongside Josh O’Connor. The Emmy-nominated actress revealed to Access Hollywood how she prepared for the role and vulnerable scenes throughout the movie which follows a “young Nigerian woman seeking asylum in Ireland who struggles to maintain hope and dignity against the looming threat of deportation.” “At moments it was tough, quite triggering actually, and then in other ways it was a way for me to be the voice for those who have gone through this,” the 30-year-old shared in part, later adding, “Those are the women I’m representing. I just carried that with me. It was hard sometimes, but it’s also probably the one time on a global scale that these words can be hitting different people around the world and I’m just the vessel to do it.” The BAFTA-award winning actress also shared that she hopes the film can give audiences a raw perspective of what it means to be in limbo and that people can feel compassion for other’s experience. “It’s a journey and everyone’s just trying to find their way out. They’re trying to get to the other side safely or with support. I just hope that when they watch this, they can get a deeper understanding of what people feel.” Plus, Letitia revealed which A-list celebrities she’d love to add to the already star-studded “Black Panther” cast if a third installment gets greenlit. “Aisha” hits theaters May 10.
