Jennifer Hudson Reveals Her Father Had 27 Children & She Still Hasn’t Met Them All

Jennifer Hudson is getting candid about her extensive family. The EGOT winner revealed on the June 19 episode of the “Your Mama’s Kitchen” podcast that her father had more than two dozen children and she’s the baby of the bunch. Jennifer recalled her longstanding hope to have the whole group gather together for a holiday, but years later she still has yet to connect with all her siblings. “I’ve never met all of them, but that’s the thing. I’m a family person, and so when I turned 16, I’m like, I want to go find, Sam is what we call him, and I want to meet all my siblings,” she said, adding, “It was my dream to have all of us at this grand Thanksgiving or Christmas table, and we all sit and eat together. That was my goal at 16.” Jennifer’s father passed away in 1999 and she has gotten a chance to meet several of her brothers and sisters since, and she told host Michele Norris how her musical talent got the ball rolling. “When my grandma on his side passed, my siblings over there were like, ‘Y’all got a sister that can really sing, you should meet her.’ And eventually we all came together,” she said.
