Jeezy is breaking his silence on his split from Jeannie Mai. On Thursday, one month after filing for divorce from “The Real” host, the rapper released a statement regarding their breakup. “The decision to end this chapter in my life was not made impulsively and comes with a heavy heart. Despite this, my love and respect for Jeannie remains and the time we spent together holds a cherished place in my heart,” he wrote. “Our beautiful daughter is the best gift from our relationship and I am committed to assuring she feels the love and stability she deserves. During this period, I kindly request that you respect our family’s privacy as we focus on healing.” Jeannie hasn’t publicly commented on the split yet, but she did share an Instagram post on October 11 that read, “Sometimes you need to take a break and disconnect to heal.” Jeannie and Jeezy got married in 2021 and welcomed their daughter Monaco in January 2022. The rapper filed for divorce on Sept. 14.
