Donald Trump Calls Female Reporter ‘Piggy’ After She Asks About Epstein Files
A moment from Donald Trump’s press gaggle last week is going viral after he called a female journalist “piggy” aboard Air Force One. On Friday, Nov. 14, the President snapped at a Bloomberg News reporter, who was off camera, as she appeared to follow up after asking a question about Jeffrey Epstein’s past emails which referenced him. “Quiet. Quiet piggy,” Trump said, before taking another journalist’s question. Before the now-viral moment, Trump was first asked what Epstein meant that Trump knew “about the girls,” referring to a document released by the House Oversight Democrats last week that displayed a 2019 email from Epstein to author Michael Wolff with that claim. “I know nothing about that. They would’ve announced that a long time ago. It’s really what did he mean when he spent all the time with Bill Clinton, with the president of Harvard, who, you know who that is. Summers – Larry Summers, whatever his name is. And all of the other people that he spent time with,” Trump replied in part, before claiming that he and Epstein had a “very bad relationship for many years.” Trump has recently changed his stance when speaking about releasing the Epstein files. He has now encouraged House Republicans to vote to release them, a sharp reversal from his previous comments on the matter. Though Trump and Epstein did previously know each other and spend time together, the 79-year-old has adamantly denied any wrongdoing and has not been accused of any criminal wrongdoing in connection with Epstein or Ghislaine Maxwell. Bloomberg News released a statement to the Guardian Tuesday about the moment saying, “Our White House journalists perform a vital public service, asking questions without fear or favor. We remain focused on reporting issues of public interest fairly and accurately.”
