Ashanti Admits She Didn’t Think She’d Get Back Together With Nelly & Gushes Over Their Son

Ashanti and Nelly are now husband and wife, but the singer told Access Daily’s Mario Lopez and Kit Hoover she once didn’t think they’d ever get back together. “It’s so crazy because we kind of both hated each other around that time, so we never saw it coming,” she admitted. “Never in a million years would we think we would be married with a child,” she said before gushing over their 7-month-old son, Kareem Kenkaide Haynes. “He’s the best, best human ever. Like, I am so infatuated. He’s such a happy baby. He’s amazing he doesn’t cry. He took his first flight, oh my God he’s just amazing, I love him,” she said. Ashanti also dished on her new Peacock docuseries with Nelly which will follow her family life and her new film “No Address” where she plays an ex-veteran that gets addicted to pain medicine. “It teaches us that you could be doing everything perfect in life and be one paycheck away from losing everything and becoming homeless,” she told Mario and Kit. “No Address” hits theaters Feb. 28.
