AnnaSophia Robb Says Digging Into Details Of ‘Dr. Death’ Surgeries Made It ‘Even More Terrifying’

Young and charismatic Texas doctor Christopher Duntsch became known as Dr. Death after his operating room turned into a house of horrors. The true-crime story, which was first told as a podcast, is now being turned into a Peacock limited series starring Joshua Jackson as the titular doctor and AnnaSophia Robb as the local assistant district attorney who goes after him. AnnaSophia told Access Hollywood’s Zuri Hall about her role, as well as all the neuroscience research she did to fully wrap her head around the botched surgeries: “I was Googling constantly and watching YouTube videos so that I could figure out what actually happened, which made it even more terrifying when you realize what the surgery was supposed to look like and what Dr. Duntsch did.” AnnaSophia also looked back on portraying a younger version of Reese Witherspoon’s character in “Little Fires Everywhere” and playing a young Carrie Bradshaw in “The Carrie Diaries.” “Dr. Death” streaming now on Peacock.
