Alicia Keys used her platform at the Grammys to send a political message meaningful to her. The “Girl on Fire” songstress took the stage to accept the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award, and during her speech, she took the opportunity to advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion. “This is not the time to shut down the diversity of voices. We have seen on this stage talented, hardworking people from different backgrounds with different points of view, and it changes the game. DEI is not a threat: It’s a gift,” she shared in part. Alicia’s comments come less than two weeks after President Trump issued an executive order taking aim at federal DEI programs.
