Zach Braff has reached his $3 million fundraising goal for “Wish I Was Here” — the semi-follow-up to his 2004 hit, “Garden State.”
The actor – whose Kickstarter campaign surpassed its goal by $105K on Friday – Tweeted his gratitude to supporters.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you. I won’t let you down!” the former “Scrubs” star Tweeted on Friday. “Lets do this.”
In addition to the millions donated by fans, Zach will also be backing the project with his own money, while Worldview Entertainment will provide gap financing.
On Thursday, Zach revealed an all-star cast for the upcoming movie, including Kate Hudson, “Big Bang Theory’s” Jim Parsons, Anna Kendrick, “Homeland” star Mandy Patinkin, Josh Gad, and longtime BFF/former “Scrubs” co-star Donald Faison.
“Wish I Was Here” will center around the life of Aidan Bloom (played by Zach) – a 35-year-old struggling actor and father forced to home school his two kids when his ailing dad can no longer afford to pay the boys’ private school tuition.
The film is slated for release in September 2014.
