The kids of McKinley High went on a field trip on Monday!
The stars of “Glee” took a bite out of the Big Apple this morning when they invaded New York City’s Times Square to shoot scenes from the upcoming season finale where fictionally they’ll be performing at Nationals.
Most of the cast was spotted filming, including Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Chord Overstreet, Harry Shum Jr., Chris Colfer, Jenna Ushkowitz, Mark Salling, Dianna Agron and Ashley Fink.
“Filming in NYC is simply wonderful,” Dianna (Quinn Fabray) Tweeted on Monday.
Prior to hitting the streets of NYC, other members of the cast expressed their excitement about shooting in the city and also about the music from the upcoming episode.
“the New York mashup we are doing today will probably make your head explode. so awesome,” Cory (Finn Hudson) wrote.
Lea (Rachel Berry) was just happy to be back in action in the city where she first became famous, in “Spring Awakenings” on Broadway.
“Now it’s time to get movin because my dream of shooting Glee in NYC is finally coming true! Hope u r ready NYC…Miss Rachel Berry is here!!” she Tweeted early Monday morning.
Jenna (Tina Chang) shared her co-star’s excitement, writing, “Good morning! It’s 5am and it’s never been easier to get up for work…. Because we are shooting in NY!!! Couldn’t be happier!”
Amber (Mercedes Jones) also didn’t mind today’s crack of dawn call time.
“Early morning start, I’m so sleepy. But at least I get to start my morning watching @NayaRivera kill this song!,” she Tweeted.
On Tuesday, “Glee’s” 90-minute Lady Gaga-themed episode, fittingly titled, “Born This Way,” will air on FOX.
