Peter Rabbit, and a few hundred of his closest pals, took over the park at the Grove in Los Angeles this past weekend for a fun, family friendly party!
My daughter was excited to pose and take photos with the famous rabbit and there were also real rabbits in a bunny petting zoo, face painting and games for the kids.
It was all in celebration of babyGap’s Peter Rabbit Collection, inspired by the Beatrix Potter books. Molly Sims was there and brought her 7-month-old son Brooks! I just happened to have met Molly earlier in the week at a luncheon where we talked about our kids a lot and now I got to actually meet her cutie in person. He has the prettiest eyes and the longest eye lashes and we joked about how the boys always get the good lashes. Not fair!
Elizabeth Banks hosted the event and read “The Further Tales of Peter Rabbit” a sequel by Emma Thompson (yes, that Emma Thompson, the actress). I told her afterwards that I would never be able to read the book to my daughter now because I couldn’t complete with the great accents she did for all the characters.
There were carrot shaped cookies, baby carrots served with hummus and lots of chocolate milk on hand for the kids (and big kids!) to enjoy.
BTW, the clothes are super cute and I was wishing they came in bigger sizes to fit my 4-year-old. We did end up buying a few things though. We had just told our daughter that she was going to be a big sister and so she had fun picking out things for her future baby sister to wear.
For me, that was the sweetest moment of all.
