Britney Spears owes over half a million dollars to her lawyers after concluding her lengthy custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline, according to court documents acquired by Access Hollywood.
The documents, filed at Los Angeles Superior Court, allege that Britney owes more than $466,000 to two law firms that represented her, as well as an addition $250,000 that she’s agreed to pay Kevin’s attorneys.
A large portion of the bill is attributed much of Britney’s bill comes from attorney Stacy D. Phillips, who states in court filings that the pop star alleges owes her almost $407,000 for four months of work, not including an additional $125,000 “written off” by Phillips.
Phillips states that the case was made more difficult by the conditions of Britney’s conservatorship — her father, Jamie, has been placed in charge over her personal life and finances until Dec. 31, 2008.
Law firm Luce Forward Hamilton & Scripps claims Britney owes $220,600 for services rendered.
Additionally, the pop star owes $60,075 to attorney Laura Wasser, who negotiated the custody agreement after taking over the case in June.
In addition to the fee allegations, Britney is required to pay Kevin $20,000 a month in child support, as a part of a July settlement handled by Wasser.
In July, Wasser told Access Hollywood that Britney was doing “great” after earning more overnight visits with her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James. Kevin retains full custody.
