Adele Drops New Single ‘Easy On Me’ After 6 Years & Fans Are Losing It

Welcome back, Adele!

The superstar has released her first new single in six years and fans are already convinced it was worth the wait.

“Easy On Me” dropped on Friday along with a full-length music video and the clip generated six-figure YouTube views in just minutes, with commenters raving about the piano ballad’s emotional impact and, of course, Adele’s signature searing vocals.

The song is the lead track from the icon’s forthcoming album “30,” which follows her 2015 smash “25.”

Adele dropped a nearly one-minute teaser for “Easy On Me” in an impromptu Instagram Live last weekend and she got candid with viewers about the inspiration behind her long-awaited new music.

“Divorce, baby. Divorce,” she said.

The 33-year-old ended her marriage to husband Simon Konecki in 2019 after nearly a decade together. The pair shares son Angelo, 9.

Adele opened up in a personal Instagram announcement earlier this week confirming “30’s” title and Nov. 19 release date, sharing that the creative process took longer than she expected due to the upheaval in her personal life.

“I was certainly nowhere near where I’d hoped to be when I first started it nearly 3 years ago,” she began. “Quite the opposite actually. I rely on routine and consistency to feel safe, I always have. And yet there I was knowingly–willingly even, throwing myself into a maze of absolute mess and inner turmoil!”

Adele went on to reveal that she’s learned “a lot of blistering home truths” about herself but ultimately reached the point where she finally feels more peaceful than ever.

“I’ve shed many layers but also wrapped myself in new ones. Discovered genuinely useful and wholesome mentalities to lead with, and I feel like I’ve finally found my feeling again,” she added.

The songstress’ comeback has also included a candid and lengthy interview for the November issues of U.S. and British Vogue, in which she opened up about falling in love again after such a painful split.

The Grammy winner and boyfriend Rich Paul made their romance Instagram official last month, and Adele explained to the fashion mag why she decided she was ready to go public with the high-profile sports agent.

“I did date before Rich, but they hated it. They’d find it stressful being out or seen with me…Whereas he’s not frazzled by it at all,” she said. “It feels like it’s consistent and considerate enough that I don’t care who knows. He’s great. He’s so f***ing funny. He’s so smart, you know.”
