Jon Bon Jovi Helps Talk Woman Off Bridge & Hugs Her In Viral Police Footage

Jon Bon Jovi is earning praise for stepping up to help someone in need. The music icon approached a woman standing on the ledge of a bridge over the Cumberland River in Nashville on Sept. 10 and appeared to convince her to return to safety. Police released surveillance footage of the powerful moment, which shows Bon Jovi and an associate talking with the woman before she came back onto the walkway and shared a hug with the singer. Access Hollywood has reached out to Bon Jovi’s team for comment on the situation. A source tells Access that the rocker was filming a music video on the pedestrian bridge and that the location was open to the public. “He happened to be there in the moment and Jon did what anyone would have done in that situation to offer a hand in need,” the source shared. Bon Jovi is said to have training in speaking to people in crisis through his work with his JBJ Soul Foundation, which he founded with wife Dorothea in 2006 to assist those facing struggles including hunger and homelessness.
